Red European Car in the City

Get to Know a New Canaan Automotive Institution

New Canaan Foreign Car Service, Inc. is a family-run company devoted to the care and sales of fine European and classic cars. Established in 1964, with roots back to the very beginning of the motorcar, our auto repair shop has serviced thousands of the most exquisite automobiles ever made, and become a fixture in the life of New Canaan. Now in business for over 50 years, NCFC has established a reputation for dependability and honesty that’s among the best in the community (and superior to the competition!).

We love providing a valuable service to the New Canaan community, and improving the trust of the community in the auto repair industry.

The master automotive technicians at NCFC are trained professionals with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. We stay up to date with new car technology by using a sophisticated computer database that is upgraded continuously, and through ongoing training at factory schools and seminars. Our technicians represent more than a century of experience maintaining and servicing the highest quality vehicles. Expertise and collaboration on complex jobs give you and your vehicle the benefit of their collective knowledge.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to offer fair-value auto repairs and preventive maintenance services to keep you and your family safe and free from breakdowns. It’s our job to keep your car in the same reliable and beautiful condition it was in when it left the showroom floor, and we take that job very seriously! Through providing exceptional service, we can expand and enhance our shop to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our customers and the entire New Canaan community.

We Practice What We Preach

Our owners are a husband and wife team. The better half calls every customer after service to check on satisfaction. We give every car a complete 45-point safety inspection, checking for any maintenance that’s due according to the vehicle’s manufacturer. We also top off all fluids as needed, inspect all lights, and check tire pressures, including the spare. You gain peace of mind knowing trained professionals have inspected your car, and will notify you when your next service is due.

Our History

New Canaan Foreign Car Service was established in 1964 by a master factory-trained Mercedes-Benz mechanic from Germany. The business was started to fill the need in the community for foreign car repair and sales after the Mercedes dealership in New Canaan closed. The original owner is personal friends with the current owners, Mark and Lucia Bagg, who took over the shop in 1992.

A Message from Mark & Lucia…

When we became owners of NCFC over 25 years ago, we made it our mission to become a car company people could trust, not only for reliable repairs, but for friendly customer service. Part of our employee training is to ensure everyone who works here treats our customers with the same care. This means that you, our customer, are the most important person in the shop—not an interruption to our work, but the purpose of it. You are not dependent on us; we are dependent on you. We are not doing you a favor by handling your automotive needs; the opportunity to do the job is a favor to us.

Our goal is to handle your car’s service requirements reliably, with a smile.

We believe our many loyal customers are proof we are achieving this goal. Over the past two decades, we have seen many changes in our community and the families we serve. Many of you have grown from acquaintances to friends. Families who first came in with toddlers are sending those kiddos off to college!

Mark & Luci - owners of New Canaan Foreign Car Service

We are truly grateful to our customers and the New Canaan community for putting your trust in us to repair your cars and keep them safe. We look forward to keeping in touch, and bringing new friends into the fold!

Hello! I was the intern from New Canaan High School as part of the senior internship program. When I was first assigned to New Canaan Foreign Car, I was excited to be a part of an auto shop; I’ve always had an interest in cars and this internship synergized with my passions. During my four weeks here, I was pleasantly surprised by how rapidly I was integrated into the NCFC team. Another shock to me was how the NCFC team operates as a “second family” – I had not expected an auto shop could be so close-knit and friendly. The “family members” were all supportive and pleasant to work with. As a closing remark, I am deeply appreciative of both the NCHS SIP, for organizing this opportunity, and NCFC. It has been a pleasure to close high school this way!
